Belal Muhammad Will Make His First Title Defense Against the Dangerous Jack Della Maddalena.

The Hype Is Real

Bell Centre in Montreal, home of the NHL Canadiens, is the site of UFC 315 Saturday evening. Headlining a stacked card is the welterweight title fight between champion Belal Muhammad (24-3-0, 1NC) and Jack Della Maddalena (17-3-0).

These UFC events also come with good prop-ortunities (we just concocted that word) on the board, which will be explored in a bit. The five-round (scheduled) Muhammad-Della Maddalena bout has the former a current -184 favorite, the latter at +154.

That's as of this writing, a few days before the card. Over/under is set at 4½ rounds, over at -190 (10-19), and under +158

Other bouts of interest on this UFC fight docket include a women’s flyweight bout with champion Valentina Shevchenko (24-4-1) defending against Manon Fiorot (12-1-0), bantamweights Jose Aldo (32-9-0) and Aiemann Zahabi (12-2-0), and lightweights Benoit Saint-Denis (13-3-0, 1NC) opposing Kyle Prepolec (18-8-0). Prepolec replaces Joel Alvarez.

Here’s a bit of a primer on UFC 315, along with some wagering props to consider…

Who Is Fighting at UFC 315?

As was mentioned, UFC 315 is at Montreal’s Bell Centre Saturday evening, with the main event a welterweight title bout between champ Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddaena.

Muhammad’s a strong choice to prevail, but as we’d teased the readership with some ‘special’ wagers on the bout, consider under the total number of rounds. While it could go the five-round distance, getting under at plus-money is worth a shot.

We just touted the under here, so if it doesn’t go the max, there’s a 5-4 (+125) prop to be had.

If you want to get bold, try either fighter winning in the third (8-1, [+800]) or fourth round (10-1, [+1000]) as a flier.

What Cities Will the UFC Be in 2025?

If you’re looking down the road at the UFC schedule, UFC 316 is returning stateside June 7th at the Prudential Center (Newark, N.J.). UFC 317 goes back to Las Vegas (June 28th), then it’s off to the Big Easy as New Orleans hosts UFC 318 (July 19th).

What Fighting Style is Belal Muhammad?

Thirty-six-year-old Chicagoan Belal Muhammad employs, according to the much-smarter-than-this-writer world of artificial intelligence, a style that’s “versatile and holistic, combining striking, wrestling, and grappling.” The Belal Muhammad record is 24 wins, 3 losses and 1 no contest.

He is entering the ring off a 10-month layoff after defeating Leon Edwards to win the welterweight title at UFC 304 last July. A scheduled defense against Shavkat Rakhmonov in December had to be cancelled as Muhammad had an infected foot.

Does BetUS Offer Constant Updates on Betting Odds?

Indeed. UFC 315 offers a plethora of BetUS odds and props on which to wager. That’s not uncommon with any UFC event, whether it’s Fight Night or numbered.

Remember, these odds quoted (as of a few days before the program) are fluid. Refer to the BetUS UFC odds pages to find the latest information.

Any Final Thoughts?

There is value to be found in wagering on more than one UFC fight, but the bettor has to know where to look. Parroting the phrase ‘do your homework,’ as it’s a given before making any wager. Do not discount the prelims and/or early prelims, either. In some bouts, fighters may be getting more respect than they deserve based on past reputation, so don’t be afraid to take a shot with a selected ‘dogs’ or props at a price.
